Today I am showing you how I took my cute mini pastel plastic drawer set and added some organisational personalisation storage labels to them to make my crafting storage easy.

I’ve been wanting to organise my stuff in the craft room better for a little while, and these weren’t being used so I thought it was time to change that.

I love this drawer set! it fits on my desk nicely and is so handy for little bits that I use regularly when I am working, like my tools.

However, there’s nothing worse than having to go through every single drawer before you find the one you are looking for.

The Cricut makes it super easy to make custom Decals for absolutely anything you need. So I am often printing out labels to apply to my boxes and things.

Creating the design…

Using Cricut Design space to create storage labels

Firstly, I have opened up Cricut Design Space and created a blank project.

Using Text, I created a list of what I wanted my labels to say (my favourite is the pointy sharp things). Then I chose the font ‘things’.

Once I was happy with the font and size, I sent it to print on my Cricut Maker, using Smart vinyl, but as I was using up some bits I had left over, I cut this with the vinyl on a mat. (Also it is the removable kind, in case I want to change the labels later)

Weeding the design…

To make life easier, I weed the design on the mat! Weeding on the mat means I can easily remove the unwanted vinyl, without fighting the curving from the vinyl being rolled up. A hack that I wish I had learnt a lot earlier in my Cricut journey!

I use my favourite weeding pen to pull off the excess, and have my handy vinyl scrap eater to hand to put the little bits of rubbish in!

Applying the design…

Cricut storage labels that are ready to be attached

Before I do anything I ensure that the drawers have been wiped down with baby wipes and are dry.
You want to make sure anytime you are applying vinyl to a surface you do this to ensure you’re getting the vinyl to stick properly and smoothly.
once all is clean I cut it out into sections.

I use gridded transfer paper and align this with the bottom of the design to be as straight as possible.

I used my Cricut scraper to apply pressure to get the vinyl design to stick to the transfer tape.

Placing the design upside down to transfer it onto the tape makes this a lot simpler too.

once the design is securely on the tape it’s all ready to apply.

I kept the label positioning to the right bottom, on all the drawers which personally I think looks pretty alright. But I don’t know. You tell me what you think?

And We are done! Mission storage labels complete.

Pretty awesome-looking drawers just by adding a few storage labels!

A really simple personalisation to storage that makes life so much easier and looks pretty snazzy too!

So what do you think?
