Our Craftroom is where we spend 90% of our time, creating, and running our small business so it is a pretty big deal to have and to love for us, especially for myself. It’s taken me a long while to work out what it is I am doing! but I finally feel like I am getting the ability to be able to come back out of my hiding shell and balance creating, blogging, and business, alongside dealing with life and my chronic illness.

When a lot of people talk about craft, they refer to the creative hobbies that they do in their downtime. When I talk about crafting and being creative I am talking about my life. I am not joking when I say, I am super passionate about being creative. The craft room is my ultimate happy place. I literally describe my desk as my happy corner.

How I fell in love with creating…

My mum has always been my crafting idol, who introduced me to the craft world properly. It started with little cross-stitch embroidery kits and scrapbooking. My mum had masses of crafting equipment, beautiful papers, and tons of stationery. So I was always eager to persuade her to start sharing her stuff with me! Mum was on the UKscrappers forums and got me involved in the kid’s section. We would spend a weekend getting involved with the ‘cyber crops’ that were being hosted, as well as attending physical meet-ups across the country. lots of scrapbooking fun!

But it didn’t end there, Crafting has been my creative outlet throughout my life so far. I have pretty much tried my hand at everything I can so far.

There are only a few things I am so keen to try left at the moment! I mean if anyone wants to come and teach me how to crochet, I’d snap your hand off in a second! I brought the hooks and brought some wool but could never get it to work.

Deciding to have our craftroom…

Fortunately for me, My wife Emma is as creative as I am, and shares a passion for crafting too!

In March 2020, Emma and I moved into our first home together. And we were certainly both on the same page for wanting a room dedicated to crafting. And fortunately, we set just that up! We went from living pretty much in 1 room together to a massive expansion of space. It is a dream come true!

So this is what the craftoom looked like when we first set it up!

So I have realised I have no recent photos of what our craftroom is looking like at the moment! which is crazy, for the amount of time that I spend in there. But I’m popping that on my goals and to-do list, to take more photos!

In the few years that we have been living here, the craftroom has got a fair bit more crowded with machines, tools, stock, and business supplies! Around my desk, I have my Cricut machines, Sublimation printer, heat presses and other gadgets, as well as my clay press and multiple-drawer storage (as you can see below). with more space, it certainly has given us the freedom to spread our creative wings a bit further than we ever could before.

Don’t get me wrong, having a craft room isn’t a must to be able to craft and create, in fact, the creating doesn’t ever stop at the door of the craft room, I often use trays and lap desks to work from the sofa or even bed. However, this is our main office and workspace, and we are so grateful to have this.

The craftroom is our working space, as long as being a working improvement on a monthly basis. So things are always being changed around to fit our needs. I’m actually hoping we can have a bit of a redecorate this year, and our craft room is certainly on the list of rooms to be done.

I love little drawers and storage boxes, to keep my supplies as organised as possible! as well as keep my area as bright and colourful, Im a pink and sparkly girl after all. my storage drawers are perfect for my jewellery supplies and things! as well as My tools and business supplies.
I also showcase all my favourite prints, my enamel pin collection and my stationery as much as I can, anything that makes me happy.

So that’s it for now…

I would love to hear what your workspaces are like! Do you have a craftroom? or a specific area you like to craft and create from? Tell me what your crafty space is like in the comments! or, find me over on Instagram, for a chat!
